#1: My new Mini Moto project.. (For sh*ts and giggles) Author: xspongerx, Location: Newquay, CornwallPosted: Thu Jul 21, 2011 4:39 pm ---- Hi guys,
I have been so bored and car parts are too expensive when you're 17 and a KP...
So, I wanted a small project that doesnt cost to much and is a bit of fun..
Went to some pikeys house today to look at some mini motos and he had one bike and a load of spares left..
He said give me £10 for the lot and take it away.
Here it is, I will be doing this over the next few weeks so watch this space if you are interested, if you're not then hay ho
How it started off:
Starting to strip down:
Was hard to lift this huge block out by myself
Plans are:
Full engine rebuild.
Race exhaust.
Air filter
Upjet carb
New Spark plug
Source some fairings.
Find a colour scheme/design.
Wheel refurb.
Paint chasis.
New pads and disks.
Will update regularly
**update 22/07/2011**[u]
Made the most of the sun today and got a few bits cleaned and painted..
Also I have ordered a new pull start and flywheel
Here is the engine, degreased and stripped.
Dirty old clutch bell
Stripped...
Primed and painted:
Bike frame sanded down..
And primed:
Now my wheels ready for refurb
**update 01/08/2011**
Painted frame:
Painted exhaust:
Repairing the fairings
Fibre glassed behind the holes...
A lot of filler in the gaps
And the finished product! (Not painted yet!)
And the engine is complete:
I re-assembled the mini moto to have a test run of the engine and it was running terrible...
Stripped the engine and found out one of the piston rings have snapped (Not damaged anything else luckily)
So waiting for the posty now to deliver my new ones and ready to run again!
Its super fast! Last edited by xspongerx on Mon Aug 01, 2011 5:47 pm; edited 5 times in total

Paid £340 for my Honda Repsol Racing replica. Was fast as f***, got clocked doing just under 60mph, which is seriously fast when you're only an inch off the floor!

Thats all I can think of so far. I found out its the lucky 7 model which is slightly bigger and faster with a removable swing arm..

I was thinking that.. With something simple like bright green rim tape...
I have so many possibilities.

I think the guy who had it before me tried to fit LED's.. There are holes drilled everywhere
#14: Re: My new Mini Moto project.. (For sh*ts and giggles) Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Thu Jul 21, 2011 5:29 pm ---- I fitted them to the front and rear, so they were like normal lights
Rear ones were flashers tho, so used to do patterns
Used to love flying about the streets on it
Sold it tho because the engine was too powerful and used to rip the rear wheel off all the time. Shreaded the bolts on the rear sprocket
Would have ended up killing myself
