#1: replacing coolant Author: Seabook, Posted: Sat Jul 23, 2011 8:49 am ---- ok doing the coolant this morning, found the drain plug.
open it and catch the coolant; surprising there is only about 3-3.5L come out.
(from the manual i think it should be at least 6L?)
anyway. top it up with new coolant, it only take about 3L of coolant
that doesn't sounds right to me
it there any other plug that i need to open in order to drain all the coolant?

#3: Re: replacing coolant Author: Howey, Location: Kings LynnPosted: Sat Jul 23, 2011 9:20 am ---- Just take the bottom hose off!
#4: Re: replacing coolant Author: Seabook, Posted: Sat Jul 23, 2011 9:28 am ---- so you are saying the drain plug is not used to drain the coolant ?
or do you mean i have to flush the remaining coolant out with water?
#5: Re: replacing coolant Author: Howey, Location: Kings LynnPosted: Sat Jul 23, 2011 9:40 am ---- No, im saying that I just pulled the bottom hose off the radiator when I changed mine.
#6: Re: replacing coolant Author: Seabook, Posted: Sat Jul 23, 2011 9:44 am ---- might have to do that now
#7: Re: replacing coolant Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Sat Jul 23, 2011 10:15 am ---- Think of all the coolant in the engine block. By undoing the drain tap or bottom radiator hose you are just emptying the reservoir and radiator. The coolant in the block doesn't come out unless you flush the system through.
I think there's a core plug in the block possibly behind the flywheel but you'd have to be desperate to take that out!

#10: Re: replacing coolant Author: gixxerkev, Location: wiltshirePosted: Sun Jul 24, 2011 2:16 am ---- Take the thermostat off as well to drain the block then flush the system through.
