big end bearings

you might of seen that i put a thread up about a bottom end knock, well i think its a good idea to change the big end bearings. Question is where do i get them from. How much will they cost. I've never had to buy any before.

if your big end bearings have gone it has caused damage to the crank also. the job entails taking the head off, the pistons out, removing sump, and removing crank to be re-ground then you have to fit larger bearing as the crank has been ground.

all in all, its 100x easier to fit a new engine and probably cheaper

If the bearings need changing the crank will likely need regrinding too.

Change the engine. Even the GTi engines go for like £100 or so.
