#1: Engine Mount Locations Author: Scootymad, Location: NorfolkPosted: Tue Jul 26, 2011 2:35 pm ---- Does anyone have a picture/diagram of the locations of the engine mounts on the 206 GTI 138?
I've done a quick search and not found anything..
Thanks
#2: Re: Engine Mount Locations Author: Seabook, Posted: Tue Jul 26, 2011 2:47 pm ---- One under ecu, one behind the engine and one next to the gearbox.
#3: Re: Engine Mount Locations Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue Jul 26, 2011 2:53 pm ---- It's next to the ECU, you can undo the three torx screws [T40 or T50]
One next to the battery [13mm socket then some T40/50 i think], and the other is under the car near the drivers wheel [17mm socket]
#4: Re: Engine Mount Locations Author: Scootymad, Location: NorfolkPosted: Tue Jul 26, 2011 2:53 pm ---- The one behind the engine.. how hard is it to get to?
I ask, because I've just had a new clutch.. and he didn't tighten the mount.. now the damn bolt fell out and I need to get a new one to put in -.-
#5: Re: Engine Mount Locations Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue Jul 26, 2011 2:57 pm ---- Easy did it with my left hand from the drivers side
Easy did it with my left hand from the drivers side
Top or bottom?
#7: Re: Engine Mount Locations Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue Jul 26, 2011 2:59 pm ---- The bottom.
Top one near the ECU was the hardest, b*****d thing snapped a torx bit, was so tight

#9: Re: Engine Mount Locations Author: Antknee, Location: ManchesterPosted: Wed Jul 27, 2011 3:22 am ---- sorry to hijack this but do you know how easy it is to change the one behind the engine on a 1.4hdi? it needs changing or tightening if thats possible?! i think its that one anyway, when i start the car up i get a pretty loud rattle
#10: Re: Engine Mount Locations Author: Timon2210, Location: PalestinePosted: Wed Jul 27, 2011 8:03 am ---- be careful from the one that is next to the ECU,before you take it out, make sure that you support the engine very well, because if you start taking it off without doing what I said, the engine will be down, and cause you lots of damage, and may broke stuff,so be carefull.

where is the supporting point?

just put the jack anywhere where it can take the weight of the engine. so anywhere but the sump
#13: Re: Engine Mount Locations Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Wed Jul 27, 2011 11:58 am ---- A jack and block of timber under the sump is perfectly adequate to support the engine.
Top engine mount needs a chain type oil filter tool to remove it.
#14: Re: Engine Mount Locations Author: Chris180, Location: northumberlandPosted: Wed Jul 27, 2011 12:15 pm ---- does anyone know the part number for the engine mount below the ecu on a gti 180, looking to get it from a pug dealer
#15: Re: Engine Mount Locations Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Wed Jul 27, 2011 12:22 pm ---- Number 12. Looks like there is a choice of two dependent on age.
