Nothing on my car is without purpose! The support rods provide extra stability to the spoiler otherwise the spoiler would wobble to much.

Just read from page 1 to here.

Excellent. I enjoy reading threads like this.

Keep up the good work.

If those support rods are serving a purpose and taking load then I hope you've got shares in whoever makes them.

They are meant to be used in tension not compression. They will not add stability under compression so you will be likely to find they will bend or just wobble about.

I've made these my self and are an exact replica of the ones J's Racing makens. They are made of 10mm massiv aluminium rod with threads on each side with balljoints on each side.

why are there 8 random holes on the back bumper? Looks dodgy...

Interesting project though!

this is why the bumper has holes!

"Also fitted a Golden Eagle diffuser this weekend! This diffuser is common on a lot of Japanese drag and trackcars. It lowers drag of the rearbumper, because the wind can now escape through the holes in the diffuser and bumper. It still has to be spray painted matt black for finishing touch. "

This is the problem when people don't read from the start!!

Would be brilliant if the bodywork looked standard...the way the front calipers sit angled down remind me of those on some Seats...

OK but has the random hole in the bumper theory been proved? 1/4 mile best of 3 both before and after the mod?

IMHO it won't make a blind bit of difference. The rest of the car is not aerodynamic enough for the diffuser to be a significant gain/loss of time.

I am playing devils advocate here; But if you CAN prove that the mod has a significant affect on downforce in a peugeot 206 then I would be very interested in that Smile

The shape of this specific model rearbumper acts like one big parachute, because it's lower than the original 206 bumper. The holes only let the air underneath the car escape easier. If you would have read the complete topic you would have noticed the bottom of the car will be closed after the exhaust has been installed, simulair to the picture below.

However it's not possible to to completly make the bottom airtight and that's why the holes are in the car. It might not been proved on a 206, beacause it's never been done as far as i know i'm the first one that is experimenting with it. Anyhow there have been enough test on other cars on wich it had good results, so we will see.

Whats with the rear spoiler support rods, not exactly going to do much are they?

I now see why you brought this up, i only had pictures of the old desing on in this topic, i forgot to post the pictures of the new design . This is the final design of the spoilerrods, 10mm thick aluminum rods with m6 threads at each end with stainles steel balljoints on them.

I love this car. If I had the money I'd go down exactly the same route. But for now I'm keeping it a bit more simple than you Smile
