#1: Goodbye to my 206, and a farewell to you guys Author: Anony-X, Location: NorwichPosted: Tue Aug 02, 2011 2:05 pm ---- A Farewell To My Baby
A picture of how she should be remembered
As some of you may be aware, many months ago i put the side of my 206 into a low bearing wall after being pulled (and then let go) by the police for my bad driving(a mixture of stress, one headlight out, and a low bearing wall caused this, the policeman just put his hand in his head at that point...and then gave me a drugs test) all very embaressing stuff. The cost for repairs was over a grand and it was awfully hard to justify that kind of money on a car that only cost me 2 grand 3 years ago. So i started looking for new cars, eventually settling on a Corolla T Sport, i started splitting bits off the 206 but was never really happy about it, losing the seats hurt a bit but i was always struggling to bring myself to sell the car itself.
This ended yesterday with a visit from the police who were now saying the car, although taxed, isn't allowed to be parked on the roadside due to a change in laws.
And that brings us to today, left with no option really but to get rid I put an advert up and within minutes Addaz had dibsd and offered to collect.
His parents have just come and collected (lovely people btw) and i'm left saddened, I loved that car, I poured money and soul into it for 3years.
Sadly it also brings an end to my time here as well, while i've been less active since the new Corolla, i've still found myself coming back, either to split bits of my car or just because, well, the corolla forums are actually fairly dry, nice people again, but the size of the userbase and its frequency of posts is very slim.
I'd like to take this post to thank everyone who has helped me over the years on this forum, ranging from advice about being stranded at a post office with a seized rear drum to help fitting new seats (PugJH), everyone has been wonderful and this forum helped me learn about cars in general.
You were all wonderful
Regards,
Danny
