Just got my old car back from the garage the engine is f**ked, and wont start however its currently in economy mode due to the ignition being on for 30 mins or more, and the garage have left the windows open, but as its in economy mode and wont start i cant put the windows up :(, does anyone know how to override this? or reset the ecu to take it out of economy mode so i can shut the windows?

Thanks

Luke.

Windows only need ignition, don't need to be started.

Doesn't the engine crank?

Mine say eco mode if left unlocked nd not started for a period of time, all you should have to do to get it out is start the engine.

As Lee said does the engine turn over?

If your windows won't go up then your battery is seriously flat!

Is it a IMMO fault?

How can it be if it cranks?

IMMO cuts fuel, not starter

If there is not enough power for the windows to even move then the starter is not going to crank.

So with that in mind the battery has enough charge and the windows are not working for some other reason.

blown fuse? dead window motor?

I would say the fuse for the electric windows has blown and its caused it to immobilize itself. Replace the fuse and it should be fine.

He didn't say if it was cranking now and not firing. Or it went to the garage because it was cranking but not firing.

Point taken. I went on the assumption that it was not starting since being at the garage.

ASS-U-ME DOH!!!
