Battery light
-> 206 Problems

#1: Battery light Author: Abzynthe PostPosted: Thu Aug 04, 2011 7:33 am

This may be really simple, but I want to make sure before I go to a garage.

Basically my battery light comes on when the engine is on and stays on until I go over 2k revs then it goes off, but as soon as I brake or go under 2k revs the light comes back on again.

Is this just that the battery needs charging? It started just after a 2hr drive up to buxton so I would have thought the alternator would have charged it? :S

Its a long shot but maybe the alternators weak and its not charging efficiantly below 2k rpm?

maybe, it doesnt struggle to start or anything and all the electrics work fine without the engine running.

Seems to have sorted it out at the moment. But I had the aux belt changed in June, so shouldnt be slipping.

I hope so, I paid for a garage to fit it. If it comes back i'll take it back to the garage to have a look.
