#3: Re: Brake Servo Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Thu Aug 04, 2011 9:05 am ---- how loud is the hissing, mine hisses slightly and I was told by pug and an independant garage that its fine and will be for the forseeable future and that there's no danger of it suddenly failing
edit: its not worth getting second hand off of ebay with stuff like that if your gunna replace it, get new

#8: Re: Brake Servo Author: iainlovatt, Posted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 6:45 am ---- Well i got one from a scrapyard, took it off myself and then took it to the garage, he fitted it for me for £20 and well its cured the problem,
So brand new i was quoted 200 and by sourcing the parts i got it sorted for £45, can complain at that!
#9: Re: Brake Servo Author: Abzynthe, Posted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 6:50 am ---- nice one

#12: Re: Brake Servo Author: LeeThr, Location: North West WalesPosted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 12:58 pm ---- Which bit is it that actually makes the hissing noise? And how hard is it to change?
#13: Re: Brake Servo Author: iainlovatt, Posted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 2:10 pm ---- the servo but it could also be the pipe, u need to be 100% sure it the servo, (the ufo shaped thing) easy to take off, but as they control all the foot brakes i got a garage to fit it back to the car for £20 so didnt take the risk!

I will be back in bangor next weekend, if i can i will arrange to meet you, that way i can have a quick look and tell you what it exactly is, pipe or servo,
If its the servo you need to make sure you get the right one as there are a few out there with different sizes and if it has ABS etc.
You should be able to get one off your mate, other wise behind tesco, and i will put up a how to so you no how to do it!
#16: Re: Brake Servo Author: LeeThr, Location: North West WalesPosted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 5:41 pm ---- Which weekend if you mean the 13th and 14th? Then sure, but the weekend after I'll be down at silverstone.
Any obvious signs between the 2 that shows which one it is?
Hopefully phoenix will have what I need in, im not going to JLS theeving little t**ts. I know exactly who runs the whole franchise.
#17: Re: Brake Servo Author: iainlovatt, Posted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 5:45 pm ---- ye but you need two people! lol! i will take a pic and send it you, but its a pipe that gores from the engine into the black UFO object, (servo) if its the pipe you will feel a air flow leaking but you need someone to press the brake and someone to feel the pipe, if its not then its the servo,
#18: Re: Brake Servo Author: LeeThr, Location: North West WalesPosted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 5:46 pm ---- Is it the pipe that goes from the servo to the throttle body?

I shall be investigating at some point tommorow or wednesday then. Is that the only pipe going to it? Is the pipe changeable on its own or does the servo have to come with it?
