Might just be an old problem that got sorted but the code never got cleared, either way if you get it code read you can see what it says and check it out and clear the codes

Seeing as its the AL4 autobox these lights are expected to be on most of the time Laughing

Why do people buy auto 206's for? the autoboxes are known to be total s**te yet people still go out & waste money on them.

If you bought it from a car sales place then take it back and ask them to sort it
If you bought it privately and don't have a garage in mind then I'd recommend
shakespeare street garage

The (AL4) autoadaptive automatic gearbox is lubricated for life .

All that is required is an oil level check at 60000 km .

Despite that, the automatic gearbox has a system for measuring oil quality .

The AL4 autoadaptive automatic gearbox ECU has an oil wear sensor .

For a given time interval, the counter increases by a certain number of units (of wear) depending on the temperature of the gearbox .

When the counter is exhausted, the gearbox ECU informs the driver of the presence of a fault by the flashing of the Sport and Snow indicator lights on the instrument panel .

Using the diagnostic equipment, the technician checks whether or not it is necessary to replace the gearbox oil .

would this oil wear sensor thing, make the car lose power and cut out and then not be able to start again for about 3-4mins?? as im having this probelm now the warning ligths are flashing then the car lses power i pull over it cuts out i turn it off and then cant turn it on again

Does the STOP light come on on the dash display. If the oil is very low or a faulty sensor is present, the engine might cut to protect the mechanical components.

Sounds like if its loosing power its going into safe mode before the engne cuts out.
You could do with getting the fault codes read asap and then you will know the cause.

I wouldnt keep using it if I were you, book it in to a garage then drive it there. If something is wrong you could be causing more damage in using it and be faced with a gearbox recon/rebuild.
