My oil level is slightly over the max. on the dipstick, is this bad??? I know the limits are there for a reason but i've driven about with it at this level with no issues however i'm just worried that it may be doing harm to the engine.

Thank you Very Happy

Petrol engine - I wouldnt really worry about it if its only just slightly over.

Diesel engine - Drain the level back down to MAX ASAP.

Is it definitely on flat ground first?

And you've let it all settle?

1.1 petrol, I might drain it down a little for peace of mind when I've got the time but as long as its safe for then engine then i'm happy.

Yes Lee, on a flat surface the level is about 2mm over max. on the dipstick. The dash oil warning is useless tho, one day it will say its full, the next empty so I can just go by the dipstick.
Thanks Very Happy

2mm over the max, dont worry about it.

As for the oil level gauge - a BSI software update will cure that.
