Put a voltmeter from battery +ve to a shiny metal earth on engine. With engine running. I'd want to see 14v + after a few minutes
Now put some load on like HRS and headlights. Still have well above 13.5v? OK charging system seems good
Now check your battery earth with your voltmeter by checking voltage drop still with engine running. One side of voltmeter on battery -ve and the other on the same shiny metal earth on engine. Very near 0v? No more than 0.3v? Ok earth is good
If you want to check if you have an all systems off battery drain then simply disconnect the battery when you leave it over night. If it's all good when you reconnect it in the morning then there's your clue. If your battery goes flat still then it's the battery
