#1: Difference with HDI model's Author: brimbo, Location: South ShieldsPosted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 5:22 pm ---- I'll probably be eaten alive for this, but what is the difference with HDI models, and non-HDI models?
#2: Re: Difference with HDI model's Author: cartoonhead, Location: North ManchesterPosted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 5:25 pm ---- do you mean the differance between the likes of the 2.0 hdi and 1.9 td ?
#3: Re: Difference with HDI model's Author: brimbo, Location: South ShieldsPosted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 5:31 pm ---- Like the difference between a 1.4, and a 1.4 HDI, just in difference the HDI models. I haven't had much luck on the internet with it, far as ive seen, HDI models are partly made in england..

Alternatively in older 206s you can get a non turbo 1.9 diesel which is slower than the lot and a bit old fashioned!
#5: Re: Difference with HDI model's Author: Antknee, Location: ManchesterPosted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 5:47 pm ---- the hdi has no spark plugs as the furl combusts under pressure, it has a turbocharger and it is quite a lot heavier than the equivalent petrol model
#6: Re: Difference with HDI model's Author: brimbo, Location: South ShieldsPosted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 5:47 pm ---- So say, in the 1.4 model, is there a massive difference in BHP from the regular petrol 1.4? looking on auto trader all the specifications look very similar, bar MPG
#7: Re: Difference with HDI model's Author: Will180, Location: NewcastlePosted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 5:52 pm ---- well the 1.4 hdi is a turbo diesel 68bhp . apposed to your 1.4 which is a petrol 75bhp model
#8: Re: Difference with HDI model's Author: Antknee, Location: ManchesterPosted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 5:52 pm ---- Im not sure but as standard, but the 1.4 hdi is 70 but can be easily remapped, intercooled and decatted to give 100+ whereas its more difficult to tune the petrol 1.4
#9: Re: Difference with HDI model's Author: Will180, Location: NewcastlePosted: Tue Aug 09, 2011 5:53 pm ---- you could most likely remap the 1.4 diesel to around 75-80 bhp tho.

More like 90-95.
#13: Re: Difference with HDI model's Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Wed Aug 10, 2011 5:49 am ---- If you stick a massive exhaust on a diesel it doesn't sound like you are doing 100mph when you are actually doing 20mph, like it does with a petrol

really? i thought since you only gain like 30 bhp from remapping the 2.0hdi youd get less from the 1.4
