This is the most rediculous thing ever!! What possibly was going on for you not to be so p**sed that you wanted to get as much out of her as possible to make her fork out a load! at the end of the day she has damaged your car and causing you all this hastle and inconvenience! You must of just got laid or something to not be p**sed!

What happened to that good old friendly community spirit? If its only a light scuff why take her for a shed load?

In response to your last part, if your that p**sed then you obv. haven't been laid for a while.

If you contact the police then you will get her details.
She is guilty of failing to stop at the scene of an accident. What the stop actually mean is exchange contact details with all interested parties.
You can get her name and address from the DVLA for a small fee, but the police will do it for free for you

Edit. Just read you got her phone number, suppose thats a start. Ring her and tell her you need her name, address and insurance details (as required to be given by law) for your claim form. Odds are she will offer to pay cash to avoid going through the insurance. If she denies all knowledge, then contact the police and give them a description of the driver.

hmmmm there are a lot of thing you should have done but not much you can do about that now.... i would call her up and ask for money to fix it. If she argues this say you will contact your insurance company and say that you have a whitness who can testify that she was at fault (i know you dont but just lie) hopefuly she will just give you the cash if it isnt too much.

Lesson learnt for next time tho Smile Good luck, let us know what happens

You noramally have a legal obligation to inform your insurer of an accident within 48 hours. Check your policy docs and it should state this somewhere. It needs to be done if there is any chance of a claim going in, whether your claiming on your insurance or not. Contact your insurers and tell them whats happened as soon as. If she denies it you don't have to claim on your insruance and the worst that could happen is they keep a record of a non fault non cost incident.

You have her number and her reg, if she denies that there was an incident how would you have this? why is there damage to your car and hers? (however small) She will start to look very silly, very quickly in front of the police if they decided to question her.

You say the damege to her CRV was on the spare wheel cover though?! aren't they normally on the rear of those cars? not on the bonnet? Laughing

Data Protection Act springs to mind.

The OP should either ring the woman and ask for her details (as previously stated, required by law to provide), or report the accident to the police within 24 hours.

To the OP, did you provide your name and address to the other party at the scene? If not, how do you know that she is not filing a report saying that you failed to stop and provide details.

To the police it's a damage only accident and they just supervise the exchange of names, addresses and insurance details.
