Hi, i'm new. A while ago when i got in my car and turned the key in the ignition there was suddenly a loud beeping noise from the speakers and i couldn't turn the stereo off or turn it down! I took the cd out and the stereo went off but the beeping didnt stop. Confused
Even when i got out and locked the car!!!

It has only done it a couple of times but it a nighmare when it happens, does anyone know what this could be??
The stereo system is completely standard single cd/radio no cd changer.

to me it sounds like it could be if you have one of your doors open or the boots open. It might be a sensor or one of the catches has past it.

Thanks for trying to help mate, but the cars spotless, only done 31,000 miles and its only happened a couple of times in over a year. Can you think of anything else it could be? Plus i checked all the doors/boot/bonnet over and over in frustration haha

That wouldn't stop the stereo responding would it?

Really? Why what do you think it could be? I hope not because I can't afford that right now. Think I'll just wait and see if it happens again Laughing

I read somewhere on the net something similar, to do with the stereo having been replaced and original not fitted back properly. I haven't got the radio keys yet tho to check

A known bug in the BSI software.

Just look at how many patches Microsoft put out for Windows each month - a multiplexed 206 is basically a computer with wheels & Peugeot update the software when bugs are found Wink

I guess yeah, but I will wait n see if it does it again I think. What sort of price does a BSI update usually run ya then? And how do you go about getting one? Does it have to be at a main dealers?

From half hour to an hours labour charge, depends on the dealer in question.

Peugeot main dealer ONLY.

Unless you can find another garage with Peugeot Planet & that will pay £4K a year to access Peugeot offical software updates Laughing
