#1: F**king bouncing locks b*****d Author: davieboy86, Location: Kent,Posted: Fri Aug 19, 2011 12:29 pm ---- What a nightmare, read every single post on the issue, then went around and wd40 'd all the locks and mechanisms, now tried unplugging the big ted connector block on each door one at a time and still no closer to working out what door it is that's messing up,
First i thought it was the boot being too full, then I thought it was the passenger door as the locks had been bouncing for a while then stopped and since I've had a passenger about a week ago every time the sodding door refuse to lock.
Short of paying Peugeot £70 to read the sodding code I'm completely stuck,
Having to disconnect the battery everytime I leave the car because if I manually lock it with the battery still connected the b*****d pops open an hour later.

Which door lock doesnt central lock when you lock the car?
Usually passengers, common fault

#5: Re: F**king bouncing locks b*****d Author: davieboy86, Location: Kent,Posted: Fri Aug 19, 2011 1:03 pm ---- Basically when I push the button on the key all the locks go down and they all come back up again.
However sitting in the car, I can push the door popper on the drivers side and it will lock fine but on the passenger side it shoots back up again, making me think it's something on that side.
Just came in the house now, I decided to give it a test as I was done for the night, the bloody thing only locked on the 5th attempt!!! After a week of non action, however I left my fags in the car so I had to open it to get them out now it's back to not playing ball at all. Had to disconnect the battery again
Aaaarrrrgggggghhhhhh.......
#6: Re: F**king bouncing locks b*****d Author: macj, Location: EssexPosted: Fri Aug 19, 2011 1:12 pm ---- answer...... pack up the fags

#8: Re: F**king bouncing locks b*****d Author: davieboy86, Location: Kent,Posted: Fri Aug 19, 2011 2:12 pm ---- Maybe, maybe but I don't think so.
Just stuck.
#9: Re: F**king bouncing locks b*****d Author: Surfer333, Location: Cardiff, WalesPosted: Fri Aug 19, 2011 3:29 pm ---- Check all of the lock/alarm sensors for doors, back boot & bonnet! My played up a little and I found it was the back boot sensor just need cleaning i.e.. getting all of the sand out (from surfing) and degreasing it with a good cleaner.
Perhaps.... it could be the wiring loom, with a loose connection, ripped wire or it is on it's way out?
#10: Re: F**king bouncing locks b*****d Author: davieboy86, Location: Kent,Posted: Fri Aug 19, 2011 4:30 pm ---- Where about are the lock/alarm sensors ? Sounds worth investigating ...
#11: Re: F**king bouncing locks b*****d Author: jonathonccs, Location: FifePosted: Fri Aug 19, 2011 5:02 pm ---- Your driver door solenoid is goosed. you will have to buy a new 1. I had the same problem with the passenger door. The lock doesn't bounce back up when you lock the door, it doesn't report back that it is locked. Lock the passenger door or use the remote and it will bounce up, because the driver lock doesn't report back that it is locked.

The car mentioned above is a GTi so has an alarm. Your car might not have a boot or bonnet sensor fitted to it unless it has a factory alarm.
The door switches are built into the locking solenoids.
When you open the doors one at a time from inside does the interior light come on? this would give you an idea if the sensors are working or not. If on one of the doors it doesn't i'd check the wiring isn't broken anywhere between the lock solenoid and where the door plugs into the body of the car. If that's all fine then I'd be looking to replace the lock solenoid.
#13: Re: F**king bouncing locks b*****d Author: jonathonccs, Location: FifePosted: Fri Aug 19, 2011 5:49 pm ---- is it a 2 wire or a 5 wire solenoid for the 206 ??
#14: Re: F**king bouncing locks b*****d Author: davieboy86, Location: Kent,Posted: Sat Aug 20, 2011 1:35 am ---- I believe a 5 wire solenoid, no factory alarm and the interior lights all work as they are supposed to when re doors are open

Yes that's what I would go for too
The c/l will bounce back up if a door is reporting it isn't locked properly. So if driver's door is reporting "not locked" then all door locks will be told "release locks now" So the passenger lock tries to lock but is immediately given the "release all door locks" signal. It's not so much the solenoid itself is goosed as that part of it is working, it's the mechanism inside that reports door locked/ unlocked.
If you take the driver's door card off and then physically make the solenoid pull that little bit further you may find the locks work normally again and prove that that is the one at fault
The same thing happens when people return to their cars to find it unlocked. The solenoid only just managed to pull the lock to the closed position and while they were away it released a little, just enough to trigger "open all doors" again
