#166: Re: Ape's SEAT Leon Cupra R 225 *Engine Upgrades Ordered* Author: Ape, Location: Clipping the Apex!Posted: Sun Jun 27, 2010 11:56 am ---- A few of us Pp folk headed over to GTi International for the weekend. Had an ace time, camping, BBQ's, Beers, fires, all good fun
I was invited onto the Forge Motorsport Stand for the day as well. Shed was adorned with their Livery and I kinda bought a new Turbo Intake Pipe and a Front Mount Intercooler kit as well Got good prices on them so can't complain. I was going to wait a month before ordering it but thought it better to get it moving now
Some pics of Shed on their Stand:

How do you rate this?
#171: Re: Ape's SEAT Leon Cupra R 225 *NEW DELIVERIES!!* Author: Ape, Location: Clipping the Apex!Posted: Tue Jul 06, 2010 12:38 pm ---- Very highly mate. I went B Road Blasting through the Lake District at the weekend and it held me to the seat just as well as a harness would, it clamps around your lap and stops lateral and vertical movement so when we managed to get air I was still in control when we landed without being thrown around. Ace piece of kit for the money (I didn't pay full price for it either )
#172: Re: Ape's SEAT Leon Cupra R 225 *NEW DELIVERIES!!* Author: Dave, Location: BirminghamPosted: Tue Jul 06, 2010 12:44 pm ---- Drop me a PM with the discount you may be able to get?
Think i will invest in one of these

#174: Re: Ape's SEAT Leon Cupra R 225 *NEW DELIVERIES!!* Author: Jamie, Location: Ring y0Posted: Tue Jul 06, 2010 1:14 pm ---- Ape I'd be interested in a CG lock too if you can get them cheaper than RRP?
How much was your oil catch can out of interest?
#175: Re: Ape's SEAT Leon Cupra R 225 *NEW DELIVERIES!!* Author: twed207, Location: borders, near carlisle.Posted: Tue Jul 06, 2010 1:21 pm ---- £24.49 - £24.99...
#176: Re: Ape's SEAT Leon Cupra R 225 *NEW DELIVERIES!!* Author: Ape, Location: Clipping the Apex!Posted: Tue Jul 06, 2010 1:45 pm ---- Too much money?! You're kidding right?
My catchcan was £30 delivered, I then had to buy some hosing to plumb it in. The can has a mark or two on it but I'm going to try and polish it out at the weekend.
I can't get discount on the CG Lock, they're on a Buy It Now on eBay most of the time, but they also put them up for auction now and again so keep your eye out and get a bargain.
The engine mounts are to sort out the mental amount of engine movement that occurs under load. The engine moves a good few inches and I get a fair bit of wheel hop. By stiffening the mounts the wasted power used in turning the engine on it's mounts will be put back into turning the wheels more like it should in the first place. I'll get more vibration in the cabin I think, but I'm not fussed with that. The vibratechnics mounts are about the best around too.
I've got another £1300 or so to go before I get to where I want to be. Loads of people go on about stage 2 being th exhaust, remap and fmic but they often overlook the handling side of things, I don't want to have all the extra power and not apply it to the bends!

UPDATE y0! I was going to fit the ARB only today on my driveway, but luckily the super secret Pp Garage was free so I spent the afternoon there with the lads fitting the bits and pieces
Fitted the NeuSpeed 28mm Rear Anti Roll Bar today. It's transformed the car no end, the rear is so lively yet so planted as well. Great fun on the twisties!
Forge TIP was also fitted
Catch Tank fitted as well I blocked the Breather pipe to the TIP and it's vented through the bottom of the sub frame
We quickly fitted a new Splitter to freshen it up
And the Tow Strap first fitment that Techie made up for me
(will be revised slightly soon)
Happy days!
Next up, I'm going to spray the Forge FMIC matt black and then add the red Forge logo to it afterwards
And a random shot of my Fridge
#178: Re: Ape's SEAT Leon Cupra R 225 *NEW ITEMS FITTED* Author: Dave, Location: BirminghamPosted: Fri Jul 09, 2010 1:40 pm ---- Like the look of the two strap, looking forward to an update on that. You really do mean business with this car, seems like every little bit of the car is being sorted!
The fridge - You have an alcoholics fridge, a man's fridge has meat too! lol
#179: Re: Ape's SEAT Leon Cupra R 225 *NEW ITEMS FITTED* Author: Ape, Location: Clipping the Apex!Posted: Fri Jul 09, 2010 1:48 pm ---- The Pug was a draft run of what I wanted to do with a car. It just wasn't powerful enough to be anything really good. This one is a better base platform to work from. I'm sorting the handling first, but doing it properly. Most people settle for a set of springs and shocks, but they only give a miniscule improvement. If you replace everything, bushes, ARB's, links etc then it compliments the whole set up. I'll be fitting the power modifications next, and will then get the alignment changed from fast road to track orientated, and then get it corner weighted too to maximise the work done.
After that's done, further weight loss, a cage and polycarb windows will be on the cards
There is meat! Behind the Alchohol! Camping this weekend with the lads, will be a laugh!
