#349: Re: Ape's LCR *Monster Stoppers and Nurburgring Prep* Author: Ape, Location: Clipping the Apex!Posted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 7:54 am ---- I won't be painting them afterall. They came up better than expected and after looking at how much would be exposed it doesn't really lend itself well to be coated in paint.

Black card in a box shape with one side open put the light inside at the back and then shine it the way.. The camera wont pick up any trail because unless you point it directly at the camera it wont see the light in the black box tis how I do it when I do light painting
Amazing first attempt though you should of seen mine LMFAO!
#352: Re: Ape's LCR *Monster Stoppers and Nurburgring Prep* Author: Ape, Location: Clipping the Apex!Posted: Tue Feb 15, 2011 5:09 pm ---- Cheers for the tip bud, will have a try of that next time I have a go
Few quick phone pics of the brakes as we went along. When I've cleaned it up I'll post some showing them behind the wheels
Callipers need a repaint really. This will be done soon
Braided hoses
The old disc, the pads were practically on the backing plate. You can see where i rubbed a bit of the groove off with my finger. They had a ton of abuse and wasn't much left of them
#353: Re: Ape's LCR *Monster Stoppers and Nurburgring Prep* Author: Ape, Location: Clipping the Apex!Posted: Wed Mar 02, 2011 10:49 am ---- I've been a tw*t and spent more money
This time on nothing performance related
A glovebox liner so I can remove the standard 6CD Changer that lives in there doing nothing
A box of gadgets so I can fool the stereo into thinking my iPod is the CD Changer
Associated wiring so I no longer have to use a FM transmitter to listen to my music. Only downside is - it won't charge my iPod so I'll need to sort an in car charger for it and hardwire that in too.
I guess it is performance related, removing the weight of the changer
Purchase plans for the year (after the Solicitors stop pulling my pants down):
#354: Re: Ape's LCR *Monster Stoppers and Nurburgring Prep* Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Wed Mar 02, 2011 11:50 am ---- Do they have any form of oil cooler as standard?
#355: Re: Ape's LCR *Monster Stoppers and Nurburgring Prep* Author: Dillon, Location: KentPosted: Wed Mar 02, 2011 11:57 am ---- Not sure if it does, but the oil temperature was hitting high 140°c around silverstone @ 280bhp, so will need a serious upgrade any how.
#356: Re: Ape's LCR *Monster Stoppers and Nurburgring Prep* Author: Ape, Location: Clipping the Apex!Posted: Wed Mar 02, 2011 11:58 am ---- Yes they do, it's plumbed in with the Heater Matrix. Does the job well on a standard engine, but when you start doing work and the oil temp's rise, it struggles to cope. A Mocal Cooler kit is about £185 and gets plumbed in behind the "S" Badge on the front and I'll be picking an 85*C thermostat plate
#357: Re: Ape's LCR *Monster Stoppers and Nurburgring Prep* Author: Ape, Location: Clipping the Apex!Posted: Mon Mar 07, 2011 9:22 am ---- New Brakes (Callipers need repainting)

I've got a new aerodynamic undertray and side ducts / mounts currently waiting to be fitted, should go on this weekend. Short of an Oil Change and 2 new tyres it's now ready for the Nurburgring!!
When I get back from the ring I'll be ordering the LSD, New Seats and a few other goodies
