#1: Help - Removing front grille trim (under headlights)? Author: Werdnal, Location: Cornwall, UKPosted: Mon Aug 22, 2011 8:18 am ---- Trying to get the front grille panel off with no success. Haynes Manual says to remove screws and "unclip from each end" but we cannot get plastic clips to budge. Don't want to lever too hard and crack the paint, or worse still the trim itself. Is there a knack to it? Any tips please?
Thanks

Peugeot / Citroen part number 6995 X3 hog ring - a whopping 25 pence each.

Wish us luck!

The black slotted upper bit needs to be unclipped from slam panel & also the lower grill first, then you can get at the middle securing screw

First time I did it, I broke clips, have done it this way a few more times and they didn't break.

The original black plastic clips seem to break everytime - the newer white plastic clips seem to be indestructible

I agree, they just bend out of shape with enough force, they dont seem to break. As said above, get something in the gap at each end and just force it off, there is two little clips on each side holding it in place. If they break just replace them.

When you take the gille off a few times, the little lugs on teh clips get pulled out of shape and don't go back into the holes in the wing tab. So as MrBSI suggests, I just keep a few in the garage drawer in case!
