Rear suspension on driver side -SOLID-
-> 206 Problems

#1: Rear suspension on driver side -SOLID- Author: alyoung, Location: Scotland PostPosted: Mon Aug 22, 2011 2:27 pm

Drove my 1.9d today and felt a bit weird, then when I went over a speed ramp at slow speed I noticed that on the way down that the rear driver side literally had no supension...really hard, to the point I felt like I bounced in the seat.

Has my rear shock gone? Seized?

Cheers,
Alit

Sounds like it, unless the trailing arm has seized but is more unlikely. Not an expert in that field

Any way of telling if it's the trailing arm?

Jack up the car and remove the wheel. You would be able to guess what's up with it just by noiseying around and putting another jack under the trailing arm to see if it rises or not. If it doesn't just remove one of the shock bolts and see if the problem continues.
