im not sure if this is a 1 of but it concerened me. i thort i would test the brakes on my car on the way home this evening so i slammed the brakes on to make sure the abs kicks in. didnt feel it :S (think the brakes need bleeding) then the hazard lights came on.

With some cars when you brake harshly the hazards come on to warn drivers behind you that you are braking harder then normal.

I have no idea if a 206 has this "feature" though.

I think the 206 does have the hazard light feature, I'm pretty sure it happened to me once too

Yeah mine have come on a few times before when slamming on the brakes, normally some sort of old person/animal going in front of the car that tests it out!

It's a feature that can be activated in the BSI, like the locking doors when you drive off

Do all 206's have this feature? Both pre/multiplexed? As i've never noticed it before !

It can be hard to miss as I think they flash rather than stay on permanently (?)

I'm not sure about non-plexed but i know all mux do, but not all have it turned on

I wonder why Peugeot and other manufacturer always make it so difficult to change BSI settings. It would be useful to turn on/off things like auto locking, rear wiper on reverse and hazards on braking.

Instead though people have to brave the risks of tricky BSI editing. Most annoying!

Auto locking can be turned off with the central lock button.

All mux have hazards with hard braking.

Another thread where reading the owners manual would have helped. (Page 36 of mine)

Some of the hazard warning under braking are more sensitive than others. When you brake heavily, the lights will begin to flash as a warning to other road users (some makes of car flash the 3rd brake light instead). The hazards will stop flashing when you accelerate again. You can also turn them off with the hazard switch.

Can we have the link to public.servicebox.peug..._en_us.htm added to the links section, then no one can say they don't have access to a handbook.

ehhh they have made it as easy as possible using pp2000 etc. Atleast it has a nice interface and you dont have to go in changing the codez! Smile

Good thing the roads weren't slippery and you started going sideways with one hand on the steering wheel then.

My ABS stands for Always Brown s**t.
I know this from the size of the skidmarks that are left behind when the smoke clears.
