#1: Knocking noise from wheel Author: Rob2859, Location: HalifaxPosted: Wed Aug 24, 2011 10:45 am ---- Alright my car has decided to develop a mechanical problem rather than another electrical problem. Its making a knocking noise that increases with speed although anything more than a slight adjustment in steering, acceleration or braking stops the noise. It was causing the engine to shake a lot when it was on stands.
I had a look today and I think its the driveshaft CV joint? Its hard to tell where its coming from other than the drivers side wheel. I wouldn't mind a second opinion before I start ordering parts.

As the noise changes if you just apply the footbrake or slight steering movements then it might be a wheel bearing or CV joint or even a loose brake part. CV joints tend to click loudly on full lock
