Is there a nack to the mushroom clips.

They just keep breaking.

I can do arch ones fine but the bonnet vent ones seem to be a pain in the butt!

Exactly the same with me they are always a b*****d but the have NEVER wanted to come out the bonnet vent for me. I always just cut them and just fit new ones.

I had to do that with my old car. Screw driver to the middle and a pull with pliers normally does the job but seriously what is the deal with these vents!!!

Use a fork to get the middle bit out and then just pull the other bit out. That's what I did last time and didn't break one

When I changed my bonnet vent I snapped them all because I didnt know the nack, but there is a way to do it without snapping them.

I now use the nail puller end of a small hammer to pull the middle out.
