Sorry I've not had my 206 long so sorry for the amateur question.
I have a 206 1.4 S Auto 2004
Does my 206 have only front discs and pads and the back are drums?
Could someone clarify this matter for me please.

Some 206s do have discs all round.
You will need to check on service box the sizes and make if you are planning on replacing them.

#8: Re: Brakes Author: Antknee, Location: ManchesterPosted: Fri Aug 26, 2011 11:13 am ---- The drums nearly never need replacing unless they are in bad condition, the shoes however do need replacing every few years depending how often you use the car, most of the braking is done by the front discs and pads which wear down quicker so it's good to keep an eye on them and keep checking, if you take the front wheel off you should be able to see how much of the pad is left, once it gets low it will need replacing, once the disc is either really rusty or has a large lip around the edge where it's worn away you'll need to change those

Front brakes are 247mm x 20.4mm vented discs.
Rear brakes are 203 x 38 drums.
It also has ABS / EBD & EBA fitted.
#10: Re: Brakes Author: gazza82, Location: South BucksPosted: Fri Aug 26, 2011 11:15 am ---- Will depend a lot of how you use them. Heavy braking will where them out quicker. Problems with sticking pistons, handbrake cables, etc will shorten the life.
I'd normally expect to get 6-7 years (say 60-70k miles) out of the fronts and more at the back, if you use good quality parts.
The fronts on our HDi lasted around 80K (lots on motorway work). I replaced the rear shoes when one of them parted company with the lining inside the drum! The CC has just had new discs and pads all round and that is coming up to 60K and is ten years old .. the rears should probably been changed about two years ago!!
