#1: Power dip after indicator is used Author: Augusta, Location: KentPosted: Wed Aug 31, 2011 8:58 am ---- Hi there,
About 4 weeks ago I had an intermittent occurrance when I used my indicator sometimes my headlights would come on at the same time, even though I hadn't turned the light column. They would then go off just as randomly without any prompting from me. When I do turn my lights on I never have have problems with them at all. Now in the last week this same fault occurs but now with a power dip, that lasts about a second. I'm just a bit worried something is getting worse & could leave me stuck. I would appreciate any help or advice.
Many thanks

More likely earthing as you have a coms unit (i think)

Many thanks

Is this any easy job to replace yourself - has anyone tried it. Be grateful to hear any info
Many thanks

I have the same car (2003) and mine has had 2 or 3 problems regarding the earthing
From memory the points are under each headlight, passenger sill under the carpet, under the dash on driver side, on gearbox and in the boot on the passenger side behind the carpet try giving them a clean with emery paper

I think the COM Unit is the bit just above your hazard surround, I have just a clock but multiplex have others, not positive if this is the thing your talking about but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong
#10: Re: Power dip after indicator is used Author: meady, Location: basingstokePosted: Wed Sep 14, 2011 11:06 pm ---- This is a comms unit. It is.the unit behind the steering wheel. Very easy to replace even i have managed to do so
#11: Re: Power dip after indicator is used Author: Augusta, Location: KentPosted: Thu Sep 15, 2011 1:18 am ---- Thanks for all the really helpful advice ...I think I'll try the earth first.
Just to clarify "the points", is this where the earth wire is fixed to the bodywork of the car with a spade type connection? Antknee mentioned one of the points being gearbox - how would I find that one?
Thanks again for all you advice - I might get a chance to start this this afternoon
