I have a 206 1.4 HDI 2002 and from buying it, it always had a glitch where it would jolt while travelling. The way you could replicate this yourself would be to literally turn the key off then on again quickly and thats how it felt. Anyway this got worse when one day it wouldn't start. There was a light ticking sound in the ignition position which I discovered was the fuel solenoid clicking in and out, and when this eventually stopped the car would start fine. Anyway long story short I bought some donor ECU kit and fitted it and the original probs went away.
Now though the car will start and drive but the temp needle is always in the red and STOP Flashes. Due to this it starts holding the revs back and has very low power quite soon after moving off.
So I swapped my old ecu back just to make sure there was no wiring fault on the temp sensor and sure enough it was fine. So it seems I now have two sets of ECU Kit with different probs but at least I can still drive with this set.
Anyway I want to repair my original set but having phoned BBA Reman they said they didn't do this ECU (Bosch). The guy sounded clueless so my question is two things
Are there any other reputable ones, after all its not hard for a cowboy to simply phone and say oh yeah its beyond repair and I can supply a new / recon one?
And is the guy at BBA talking out his ass?

ECU is nearly £900 new from Peugeot.
Just use the Bosch 10 digit ID number on the unit to find a replacment if it is faulty

It would need unlocking / coding to the BSI unit.

BSI unit is the body computer inside the car which is in complete overall charge.
ECU is just the engines brain which is under the bonnet.

OR
Go see your Bosch automotive dealer, you have the ecu & the 10 digit Bosch ID number will be on the sticker, doesnt get much easier then that to match it up.
