Rear wiper disable?

#1: Rear wiper disable? Author: abs06, Location: East Sussex PostPosted: Sun Sep 04, 2011 3:53 am

Basically can I disable the rear wiper...

I am gettin a bike carrier and I don't want the rear wiper to turn on when front is on and u go into reserve.

Can I just pull the fuse out. Is the rear wiper on separate fuse. Or maybe a switch in the boot…

Don't want to spend loads

Thank you in advance

IIRC you can get it disabled in the BSI configuration using PP2000.

As Jord says, just disconnect the motor loom inside the tailgate, or remove the wiper arm

You would be correct, I had mine enabled using this method

I still want it working.
And still want that feature of turning on when in reverses. Jay temporally turn of while I got bike rack on. Maybe taking the arm off
How about adding a switch to the loom... Like maybe the power cable. Would I nee a relay?

Just put a switch in a convinent position in the boot & tap into the live wire leading to the wiper motor. You won't need a relay either.

I just pull the wiper up vertical to the rear screen whenever I use a rear bike carrier then it can rotate harmlessly in midair if I forget and start reversing with the front wipers on

Or you put a switch to your brain which says "I will not reverse with front wipers on" That's easier than you might think Very Happy

Or disconnect the reversing switch on the gearbox, or just don't reverse Laughing
