#1: Engine Transplant Author: AshH, Location: BirminghamPosted: Sun Sep 04, 2011 7:54 am ---- Ok so I want to get a Newer 206 to make my Project as it will also be my daily! However I do not just want to send the other to the scrappy as its a soild shell!
So I was thinking of tracking it. What is best to do, i'm thinking a VTS Or 106 GTi engine, as i've worked on this engine for many years!
My question is, what do i need for the transplant into the 1.4 8v? Is it basiclly get a Whole VTS or GTi job? or will I be able to use some parts off the car ATM?
Thanks for ALL help, Ash.

#3: Re: Engine Transplant Author: lee206xsi, Location: CheltenhamPosted: Sun Sep 04, 2011 8:02 am ---- why not a gti-6 engine. why put a 120bhp engine in a 206 when a 167 will be much better. some guy on here ages ago had one with bodies and it was around 200bhp

GTI 6 engine is old fashioned now & a lot of the engine mechanical parts are no longer even available to buy from Peugeot / Citroen anymore.
#5: Re: Engine Transplant Author: AshH, Location: BirminghamPosted: Sun Sep 04, 2011 8:12 am ---- The 6engine slipped my mind actully! Was a rear end damaged 1 by me going for £300 aswell may have to go see if his still got it.

dont see the point in a 106/vts engine in a 206 when you can pick up a vts/106 for dirt cheap, plus they handle better. gti6 engine maybe old fashioned but its a good strong engine and with a 6 speed box imo is way better than a vta/gti tu engine. xu ftw
#8: Re: Engine Transplant Author: AshH, Location: BirminghamPosted: Sun Sep 04, 2011 8:22 am ---- Im getting a new 206 (52plate+) which will be my daily and this 1 will JUST be for track. (touchwood)

Only XU lumps worth bothering with are XU9J2 & XU9J4's, all aluminiim = lots less weight to lug around.

Then you can fit what you like.... you only need basic wiring loom for lights and you can use standalone management on any engine

#12: Re: Engine Transplant Author: kakaruto, Location: Mansfield NottinghamPosted: Sun Sep 04, 2011 8:58 am ---- why not use the 2.0 petrol 406 sri turbo lump?
would be one seriously quick 206 if done right. I dont know how hard it is to transplant or how much work is involved but i was given this idea by someone i know.
it is something i have been considering doing but i need to do a lot of research on it and find out what mounts need changing and how much i need to extend the front end if at all.
