Hi im currently in the process of fitting some coilovers for my car however ive removed everything and loosen the strut clamp bolt (not fully off as its stuck at the end) but there's enough room for the strut to be pulled out however it just dont want to move? :S i dont know if its because the strut bolt isnt fully out? or? any ideas?

Thanks

Luke

Pop a screwdriver in the slot at the back and lever the hub apart slightly. I believe there is a special tool available to do this. I've never used one though. You do normally need a chunky hammer to knock the hub off the damper though.

You have removed the hub from the ball joint haven't you?

You should also buy new nuts and bolts when doing usch jobs?

You'll need to remove that strut bottom bolt in the hub as there is a groove in the bottom of the strut that the bolt sits in

Keep turning the bolt and work it back in and out, use some lub, then a drift through of around the same size should knock it out

Push / hit bolt all the way out and hit down on hub with block of wood and hammer, Razz

I sometimes put bolster in to grove on back, just to open it up a tiny bit.
