My coolant hose was on the fan belt which caused a rip and all the coolant liquid escaped, but it feels this has gone into further problems now because my car can not rev as quick as it did and it feels like it's going to stall, the exhaust is making an awful noise and is shaking even after I topped up coolant solution? I am temporarily using insulated black tape to cover the hole and has only minor leaks of course I won't be driving it any more until I get hose at least.
Has this caused permanent damage to something...?
The dramatic shaking stopped after coolant was filled but still shakes, steering wheel shakes at gear 5.
All this because hose pipe rip.
What does my car want? I can't get rid of it I need it for 1 MORE MONTH until I get new car.
EDIT:
Obviously I need new hose pipe and need this in a matter of urgency because of work and that, could they sell this in local MOT?
Was also thinking instead of tape can I cut hose in half and put one half inside the other half would it leak?

#4: Re: Ripped coolant hose Author: karimali831, Location: EnglandPosted: Sat Sep 10, 2011 12:04 pm ---- The spillage of coolant solution and driving without any coolant liquid for a short while caused damage to the engine or something because my exhaust feels a whole lot different, for example at gear 3 driving at low speeds the exhaust/cat will judder very bad and it wasn't like this before.
Coolant is now re-filled and it doesn't spill but exhaust is still sounding knackered out and driving very rough. So had a look at the bonnet, no spillage any more and looks fine don't think it is misfire/head gasket/coil pack or anything... according to garage anyway they think the exhaust is gone can this be the case?? I just can't see how a coolant hose leakage can cause the exhaust to go off. It's hard to tell what it is.. if anyone got any idea I'd be glad to hear.

I'd sort them both, have a good look on ebay for a front section including cat, there obviously not dealer quality but there decent enough mild steel, i bought a whole standard system when my son was born and it was good enough, still going! You still think that is coincidence or a cause?

could it be just wiring?? if spark plugs somehow are not on and cylinder is not receiving spark it will misfire?
