Totally agree!! Wink

Having pretty much exactly the same problem mpg wise with my 180 atm!! Over the past week it keeps dropping to just under 29 mpg driving like a granny, first time in my ownership, as I always reset it after a short blast to keep it around 33mpg!! Cool Got mine booked in for a diagnostic but got a feeling its down to the plugs!

Will be great to hear the outcome of changing the plugs Smile

No problem and thanks for comments above.

Plugs now changed to Bosch 'Supers' original Peugeot 180 part - Bosch FR7ME

NGK's 'LFR6B' came out.

Car now idling nicer and car pulling more cleanly throughout the entire rev range. I am aware the idle isn't the smoothest going on the 180 at times but immediately it was idling nicer and not jumping in revs as frequently.

Computer reading about 35-38mpg cruising at ~70mph on the motorway earlier (I don't know how accurate the computer actually is though!) but all bodes well and essentially initial thread solved.

There is still a split second 'gap' if you floor the car from low revs ~1000rpm but being a highly tuned multi valve engine this is kind of inevitable and on reading other threads normal - although sounds like an induction kit could reduce the effect slightly.

This is about the only pic of the car I have - which is from the original sale ad Sad

and if you happen to be interested this is my normal daily driver.

The 206 is in general good order with a fresh cambelt done earlier this year, completely stock apart from what I think you guys call SP goodies like the bonnet/bumper grills/fuel cap and interior bits.

Next thing to sort will probably be the clutch as it's still the original to our knowledge! Also to refurb the wheels properly as the previous owner took the liberty of giving them to a cowboy to do as all the new paint has flaked leaving them very scratty. Also the steering wheel starts to wobble at very high speed indicating one maybe buckled but these are all minor. The finacé wants to get some new wheels for it but not sure what to go for as we fear even if we have these properly refurbed they may not be straight underneath.

All in all it's been an excellent little car though.
