spare wheel cage

my spare will cage is ficked as when done up tight it still can lift cage up and down and move spare will around. thinking of removing it. its that hard to do or not?

sorry to hi jack this thread but i thought i would ask here instead of making another thread as it is virtually on the same topic.

basically the bolt you twist to bring the cage up seems to be seized so i can not raise the cage up with the spare wheel, is there any way of releasing this seized up bolt? or do i have to grind the f****r off and replace it? and where can i buy a replacement bolt for it?.

and no, it is hard to unseized that bolt, that why i said that bolt is evil.

dealer it is then as i doubt i will find a bolt that isnt seized solid at a scrappy lol.

i cut mine off yesterday lol ditched the spare as it was flat anyway :/ if i ever need it i will just call greenflag lol free recovery ftw

i have heard that they can refuse to tow you if they discovered you remove the spare tyre.

not sure if that is true or not.

any light?

They probably could but i could just say it never had one Razz

Besides its the same guy thats came out to me 2 or 3 times now so he kinda knows me Laughing if it really came down to it i could just call a family member to bring me the wheel, on long trips id stick it in the boot

yes alot of recovery companies require you to carry a legal and roadworthy spare tire
