#1: Key programming help, please... Author: elted, Location: Dublin PostPosted: Mon Sep 19, 2011 2:55 am

OK, got car with only one key (not remote). Bought secondhand one off ebay. Changed transponder, cut new blade, car starts, great.
Have PP, went through key learning procedure, ok. cannot get remote to work. Checked the circuit board in remote, it is 73373067c which is the wrong one as I have fogs. But as I only have one key I can change the key type in PP, still doesn't work. Tested the battery, was ok, changed it anyway, still no joy. Professional help now required. Is there any way to test if the remote is actually emitting a signal?
Help please.

Don't know where you got the link between the circuit board and fogs from. Mines a C and has fogs and works fine, I know someone with a B and fogs and thats fine too.

There is a gizmo for checking the signal emitted. The dealer or local auto locksmith will have one.

Thanks mate. In Peugeot Planet they distingush between different keys by, if the car has front fogs (factory) or not.

I think you need to do some more research...

73373067c,73373067b and 73373067d are all fitted to cars with fogs (and thats just those three types of circuit board, there are at least two more for a multiplexed 206)

Thanks Lee,
So I have the right board afterall, am I missing something in programming with PP? I select the key type the options are:
Previous type without fogs
Previous type with fogs
New type wo fogs
New type with fogs.
It says new type was introduced in 2006, so mine being 2004 it's the previous type.
I then go to setup the new key, it asks for 4 digit code, then says take key out, put new key in, then learns key. All ok. After it learns the key, it gives me a screen that instructs how to programme the remote. Tried a hundred times, no joy.
Lee, am I missing some vital part? I'm new with Peugeot Planet.
Many thanks

If the key definatly works, then its the wrong key for your central locking system.

There are at least 5 for a multiplexed 206, and 3 for a non-plexed 206

Is there any way to find out which one I need? It would be an expensive project to buy one by one.

Nope, trial and error unfortunately

I spent hours trying to find out the difference in circuit boards, but no-one seems to know, even when I asked a few master techs

Hey Lee

I am a newby here and just purchased a used 206 GTi euro version, also have the problem of only ONE key, the key is a remote key which works fine I just want a second key with remote.
Can you explain multiplexed 206 and non multiplexed difference to me?.

Also what do you suggest I do to get a second key wit remote??

Sorry if this is not the right place to ask this question.

Thx

Rob

Multiplexing - 206info.co.uk/Forums/v...=1675.html

You can either get just a standard valet key, or try and get a plip key
