#1: Bit stuck with a problem - 1.1 206 1998 Author: CD-B3, Location: Salisbury / New ForestPosted: Wed Sep 21, 2011 3:06 am ---- So a few months ago I was doing some work on a 1.1 206 for a friend.
The problems were:
1. Starting it and it would lose revs and die.
2. Start it and it would rev up to 4k rpm on its own.
So I changed the ICV and reset the ECU.
That sorted it for the time being, however it was SORN and it's only been MOT'd this week. Now last night it did the same thing, revving up to around 3-4k rpm.
Any ideas?

A SORN is a Statutaroy (sp?) Off Road Notice.
If you dont pay the tax for it to be on a road you have to declare it as a sorn to the DVLA otherwise you get a few nasty letters.

as above, map sensor will solve it should the problem re-occur. changed the ICV on mine for the exact same problem and solved it for about a week. then changed MAP sensor and been running beautifully for nearly 2 years since.
