#1: eninge ticking Author: henrymilne, Location: BelfastPosted: Thu Sep 22, 2011 1:35 am ---- So ive got a 2001 1.4 8v just hit 99thousand miles there at the weekend but was driving home last nite down the motor way and every time i took my foot off the accelerator i cud hear a very loud ticking from the enigne didnt happen when i had my foot on the accelarator. Didnt think anything of it last nite. then this morning it was still doin it. any ideas?

could be a gearbox fault,
