Disconnect it and pull up through the rear pillar to the roof line, then feed it through so it is out of the vehicle. Disconnect the rear wash/wipe water supply tube. Undo the lifting struts and get a mate to help hold the tailgate steady, finally undo the bolts holding the tailgate to the main body.
To refit, just do it in reverse.

I just cut the wires and re wired them with bullet connectors.
Just look for the nuts holding it on and undo
