Evening all. Got a 1.4 206 with 60.000 v reg.

Had an oil leek on the rocker cover gasket which driped onto me alternator belt, which then led (or maybe made) to the belt slipping off, so i replaced the belt and changed rocker cover gasket....all seems fine and dandy.

Untill the there is another oil leek, took rocker back off and iv noticed that there is an oil leek coming from me head gasket area :S

just to check i tried tightning the 4 bolts there and i got at least 1/2 turn out all of them!!!! which has got me thinking has a previous owner done a bodge job on the head gasket and used the bloody same bolts!!!

am i looking at a future head gasket failure?

It's about the correct torque, not turns. I'd check them properly incase you've over tightened them.

yes sorry it was torque, and half a turn to the correct torque. Once you re-do the head iv always tighted the head bolts, then after 100 miles re-tighten.

Im thinking either he hasnt done the 2nd check or reused the bolts

As long as the cars running alright, ie temp ok, water & oil levels ok & no 'mayonnaising' on the filler cap I woudn't think you had anymore need to worry than normal.
