#1: Temp sensor gone 207 Author: eddrj, Location: BerkshirePosted: Fri Sep 23, 2011 8:32 am ---- Hi the temp sensor probably the same on the 206 and the 207 , mines gone after only three months old new car .
As a result it wont start in cold mornings taked about 6 times really hard to get it started but when warm seems alrit.
Ive seen the temp gauge go up and down and crazy byitself so booked it into pug next week but as under warranty and hard to start its in peugeot now. Have to wait for the part they say be fixed monday .Ive driving brand new vauxhall astra 1.6 petrol got that till monday courtsey car for now .
Anyone else had a temp sensor gone and does it make the engine not start ?? ive read few times on internet it does for some reason. Last edited by eddrj on Fri Sep 23, 2011 8:38 am; edited 1 time in total

Think its the most common fault with the 1.4 16v sport ,cant believe anything can go after only just 3 months.

#8: Re: Temp sensor gone 207 Author: eddrj, Location: BerkshirePosted: Sat Sep 24, 2011 12:20 am ---- thinking i shoulda got a new astra now its really nice , well nice to drive, nice seats and steering wheel and its NOT french no rattles problems lol . Nice at front not so keen on the back though. You dont feel how fast your going either i was doing 70 thinking was less scary really didnt seem like was doin 70 already , mind you im not going over 70 in it as its not my car and only got it few days lol.
Im really happy with the 207 apart from this one probably already trust me to pick the engine with this common fault mind you they must all have some peugeots always do, least they have to fix it for free everytime for 3 years then il just get another new car .
Think the Gti turbo petrol engined 207s heard hell of alot of problems with them lol.
Ive seen few pics of the 208 think it looks alirt.

Peugeot extended warranty with mot test cover for another 3 years
Make sure its a genuine PEUGEOT extended warranty, dont let a dealer tuck you up with one of there dealer group warrantys.

Genuine Peugeot extended warranty OR dealer warranty?
#13: Re: Temp sensor gone 207 Author: eddrj, Location: BerkshirePosted: Sat Sep 24, 2011 4:10 am ---- Its the 1.4 Vti 16v 95bhp sport engine made with Mini, BMW .
It didnt even come up on the AA mans computer thing was just the 1.4 8v think its only been out less than a year for the 207.
There is old sport 1.4 which is 16v 90bhp but this is the new Vti engine and there is normal 1.4 8v which is 75bhp .
Duno why peugeot made so many 1.4 petrol engines for the 207 there are 3 that i know of mabey more lol. Last edited by eddrj on Sat Sep 24, 2011 4:16 am; edited 3 times in total

You better go check
Genuine Peugeot extended warranty = you can take the car to ANY Peugeot dealer in the UK for reapir just like you can now.
A dealer warranty = your basically stuffed, it has to go to that dealer OR another dealer in the same group for repair.

I don't know if the 1.4 is the same as the 1.6 but it's quite a clever little engine. Throttle butterfly is only used on start up - after that the valve lift is used to control the air flow into the engine. The 1.6 has VVT too. The water pump disengages when its not needed. There's no cambelt to snap either - just a chain to rattle.
#17: Re: Temp sensor gone 207 Author: eddrj, Location: BerkshirePosted: Sat Sep 24, 2011 5:57 am ---- yeah thats right mine is the same , has a chain for camblet and is valve lift think they are the same but the 1.6 is 120bhp mines 95bhp.
Least i dont need to worry bout cambelt snapping lol.
