Glove box light
-> 206 Problems

#1: Glove box light Author: ARRAN, Location: Wiltshire PostPosted: Mon Sep 26, 2011 7:03 am

Popped my glove box light out earlier as it wasnt working, expecting it to be a bulb or something.. but it had no wires running to it at all. I tried to locate the plug which plugs into the light itself, but couldn't find anything behind the glove box. Any suggestions on where it could be lol?

take a pic and show us, sounds like it doesnt have one, but the wires should be there..
There shoiuld also be a push clip sensor thing bottom right of the glove box frame when you open the door which activates the light!!

A white connector plug with 2 wires in.

Should also be a brown connector plug for the switch.

Normally clipped to right hand side of glovebox housing if not factory fitted, stick your hand up the back of the dash & have a feel.

I brought a boot light and a hand brake switch from ebay but can only connect up one as I have two connectors at the side of my glove box but only the brown connects to them both. and ideas or is it that you cant use the hand brake switch for the glove box switch?

thanks

Lee

Just buy a glovebox switch from the dealers. I bought both the light and the switch and came to about a fiver. Bit dearer without discounts.
Note sure if the pre-plex is any different to the multi-plex so it would probably be easier to check prices on servicebox before going to the dealer with part numbers.
