#1: Revving at 3k Author: 206Mike, Location: ManchesterPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 12:16 pm ---- Hi, another problem now
Just filled up, definately unleaded, now the engine struggles to rev to 3k and when it does hit 3k jumps about as if there's some sort of limit there?
Can anyone shed light on the matter?

#9: Re: Revving at 3k Author: tomd0801754, Location: MoscowPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 12:26 pm ---- PM Lee (thats his username). Him travelling to you from Sheffield will be cheaper than going to a garage and getting it sorted.

It may still have codes on it.
#12: Re: Revving at 3k Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 12:29 pm ---- Leave the battery off for 45-60 mins mins, let the ECU restore to default
#13: Re: Revving at 3k Author: 206Mike, Location: ManchesterPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 12:43 pm ---- Done, what if that does nothing?
BTW Lee thanks for the help in my other thread, problem solved on that one, now this!
#14: Re: Revving at 3k Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 12:46 pm ---- Then it needs code reading if it doesn't work.
Limp mode means there is a main sensor detecting a fault
And French cars always have at least two problems
#15: Re: Revving at 3k Author: 206Mike, Location: ManchesterPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 2:00 pm ---- No luck!
Reconnected battery, drives fine, just bogs down at 3500 now, looks like its going for some fault reading which can hopefully fix it
No EML light still
Good job i took out warranty when i bought it haha

#16: Re: Revving at 3k Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 2:03 pm ---- I'd bet the MAF
What engine is it?
#17: Re: Revving at 3k Author: mjrimmer, Location: davenportPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 2:08 pm ---- On me freelander you can disconnect the maf when it's faulty and the car will run on default settings letting you still drive ok whilst you pick up a new one........dunno if you can do this on the 206 though?

No
#19: Re: Revving at 3k Author: mjrimmer, Location: davenportPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 2:15 pm ---- Bugger! who'd of believed landrover made something easy and cheap to test ( everything else costs the earth mind you).
#20: Re: Revving at 3k Author: 206Mike, Location: ManchesterPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 2:29 pm ---- 1.4 8v, Dont think it would be MAF but if a reset of the ECU (disconnecting battery) didnt kick start it out of 'limp mode' then diagnostics is the only route right?
#21: Re: Revving at 3k Author: 206Mike, Location: ManchesterPosted: Wed Sep 28, 2011 2:46 am ---- Hi all
Sorry for double post again haha
Started car this morning - works fine! Revs freely, all sorted. Take it to a Peugeot garage who say the earliest they'll be able to chip it is next Monday. Then as I'm leaving the garage to go to work, it kicks in again. Ultimate fail. Disconnected battery in an attempt to get her working again. Gutted

#22: Re: Revving at 3k Author: Seb, Location: Under your bedPosted: Wed Sep 28, 2011 2:51 am ---- Does it stutter a lot? Could be a coil pack.
#23: Re: Revving at 3k Author: 206Mike, Location: ManchesterPosted: Wed Sep 28, 2011 2:57 am ---- It only stutters when it hits the rev range for limp mode,
When i started it this morning it was fine, however since back in limp mode it had a stress at 3k, thats all thats wrong with it i think.
