they are area reps, not organisers. They are there to help out with making sure locations are suitable and to give help to the person organising the meet. There is nothing stopping anyone on here organising something, even if it's just a meet at a McDonalds.

I thought the club christmas meet that Dave was sorting was over Yorkshire way

It's Krispy Kreme. Get it organised. Double dozen on order for the Macca household please, and the hot chocolates better than the free stuff from Robins and Day

Anyone is more than welcome to arrange a meet for our area, Just because me and Sam are reps it does not mean that only we arrange them, we just make sure they happen and get as many members involved as we can to help the OP along with it Very Happy

Im actually in the process of getting something sorted but i have not heard any info back from what im planning yet so be my guest and get something planned

You take stand and organise it. Wink

Pretty simple.

1. Choose a place, time and date.
2. Post it up on here.
3. Keep interest in the thread.
4. Attend and take lots of pics.

Hi, I am your other area rep along side raz Very Happy

Like Raz said its not just up to us to organise meets anyone can, and should do it!

As has been said I organised a meet at RS Tuning in Leeds last month. However, the less said about that the better tbh and I am going to have to have a re-thinking as to how to organise those meets in the future. Its unlikely I will organise another one there untill next summer.

I don't actually live in yorkshire for a large part of the year as I am at uni in Kent. I am thinking me and Raz should put our heads together to organise a meet around christmas time when I am back home. Obviously it needs to be something cheap as christmas is an expensive time of year for everyone. Ity also needs to be fairly central to the region so that we can get as many members there as possible. So yeah, any ideas welcome!

I have to admit I am not on here very much any more as I have a lot going on at uni but should you, or anyone else, want help in organising a meet then feel free to email me. It should be linked at the bottom of my posts Smile

All the best

Sam

EDIT: don't email that address, I wont reply as its where all my junk mail goes lol. Instead email my personal email: sam.j.clements @ gmail.com

What happened? Shocked

In short not enough people turned up for us to actually have a group day even though plenty of people had confirmed that they were attending and even more had said they were coming previously. So yeah quite a sore subject as most people didnt even let anyone going know that they wouldn't be attending. Also this has left the club in a bad light and I could thoroughly understand if RST didn't want us back again.

That said RST were very good about it and we got it sorted but only because we have been there so many times in the past with usually exceptionally good turn out and those few of us who attended had an enjoyable day Very Happy

Bad attendance is just rudeness. Those members should be named and shamed, maybe negative feedback left for them.

If they were being relied upon to ensure everyone else had a discount then they should be ashamed of themselves.

Refuse them next time Wink

Just have a look at the thread and you should get a pretty good idea who attended lol

I choose not to write a long rant at the time although trust me I was fuming. That said it wouldn't have achieved anything, positive anyway. If anything it would have made attendence at meets worse and thats not something I desire and I certainly wont be refusing anyone haha

In future its unlikely I will organise an event where I have to put my own money on the line as i have lost confidence in a lot of the members on here sadly and that has quite alot to do with my absence from the forum. That combined with a few other factors but nothing to worry about as I'm still here to help where I can.

Just don't expect many/anyone people from Sheffield to show up.

I'm saying this based on 2 previous meets with only 4 cars turning up lol.

Btw, why is Krispy Kreme called Krispy Kreme? Kreme, or cream is not Kirspy, meringue isn't even krispy

Lee turns up from Sheffield

Most people proberly didnt turn up to your last meets because you had made it it your own back garden, and who wants to go to sheffield?? Laughing

Usually when people organise them they make them central to every one so all have to travel some distance to get there making it fair.

Sam always organises Leeds, Leeds is most Central to Yorkshire and only one lives there. Sam himself drives a hour to get there, and most others more than half an hour.

The meets I did were Sheffield based meets, since there is a lot of members fro
Sheffield and the surrounding area. Plus summer site meet this year in Buxton? Not far away from Sheffield and only one person went

The Sheffield meets have always been at stupid times, like 8pm on a Saturday.

Big meets are just w**k in general

No way, I've tried and failed to materialise numerous meets and they always end with about 3 cars turning up, I'm done tryin, but I'll happily attend if someone else wants to try and organise one.

If not, I'll see everyone at FCS

On a serious note I think somewhere more interesting rather than a shopping car-park. would be more inviting.

Good to see some are interested in a meet.

How about either Sheffield or Snake pass somewhere as mentioned?

Can get a meet arranged for even next month? Best thing in my eyes to do would to meet somewhere with a bit of space and a nice background for pics, even a pub or a place for food

new to the forum but may have a suggestion

i recently went on a focus st club outing to the scooby clinic nr chesterfield ,they did a rolling road session was about £35 each i think

was good to see people faces watchin to see how far their cars would go also its an awsome place to walk round with rally and 800bhp drift cars everywhere.
the guy who runs it was lovin it says he likes to see different cars to subarus

Who's up for one then?

A Hull one can get at least 7 members I can think of so that sounds a good choice

Also if there is more interest in a meet for somewhere like Sheffield then we could do that

Who's up for what and we can get one sorted

Id do the snake pass one. But I'm not going all the way to Hull. Even Sheffield is a push for me.

It's looking like snake pass is the top choice anyway Matt do no worries

Will give it a week or do and then get up a meeting area with dates and times

-> Yorkshire
