No I have been told the gearboxes are the same. So the pin may still be in the end of this gearbox hence it not fitting?

Ok thanks for your help, I am getting the driveshaft that was in this box on Friday so I will know more then, will take some photos if I am still having problems.

They sent it yesterday and it definately is smaller. Will check tomorrow but god knows which gearbox I have fitted!!!
