#1: Clutch pedal hard to push down - 2006 SW model Author: TommyH, Location: Bognor RegisPosted: Sat Oct 08, 2011 2:35 pm ---- I've recently bought the above car and find it has a very stiff clutch pedal, with resistance when the pedal is pushed about halfway down. It's working fine otherwise, but is a bit annoying. Would this be the clutch cable, and is there any way to change this? Any help much appreciated :-)!

I was very skeptical at first, but apparently the springs can go stiff over time due to them
flexing repeatedly and getting metal fatigue. (10y old 206 in my case)
The difference now is unbelieveble. Pedal goes down with the touch of a feather so to speak.
OR it could be your auto-adjusting cable knakered...
