Yer, my mums got a 307 which she just wants rid of now, lately its just had nothing but problems.
307 = recalled up to 3 different times for catching fire & the horn push has a built in design fault
The RD3 radio's fitted to the 307 dont last to long either before just giving up
The cd changers gone on her's & we'r also waiting for 2 injectors to turn up as her's are knackerd.

That's the sort of thing that comes from sitting at traffic lights etc with the clutch on the floor.
thats first i heard of that? do you suggest putting into neutral and clutch up when waiting? i always have clutch in, in gear and sit on brakes
clutch in will wear out the release bearing on the clutch kit.
no wonder why more and more people wear out the bearing before the plate

#39: Re: My clutch went kaboom (GTi 180) Author: sri16v, Location: WalesPosted: Thu Oct 20, 2011 11:34 am ---- Mine went after hearing the release bearing grinding for a good 2 weeks and the bite point getting higher and harder to pull away.
I bought a clutch kit from my local factors, national clutches was the make, cost me just under £100, have done around 3,000 + miles and no signs of problems.
pics of the thrust bearing, well what was left of it, new one on the right to compare
and the new clutch installed
#40: Re: My clutch went kaboom (GTi 180) Author: NorthantsBen, Location: Raunds, NorthamptonshirePosted: Thu Oct 20, 2011 11:52 am ---- i never done all that clutch up, handbrake on etc and never ever had a new clutch or new brakes (due to warping) ever.

i got told that for when im on lessons ect, its easier to leave it down as its more effort rushing to put it back in gear ect whilst learning, but once i get my own car to leave it up, as its me who has buy the clutches then
