Was just wondering if i would be able to convert my 1.4 LX 206 with a 206 gti 180 bhp engine, as in are the engine bays the same size and engine mounts making it an easy job ? hopefully in futre preparing for a rally car if this option is avaliable.

Thanks.

Yes, search the forum, plenty of info on this, engine conversion question gets asked at least once a week.

Subframe is different between TU & EW lumps for a start along with all the other bits needed for GTI 180 running gear.

If the 206 is non plexed then there's the headache of getting the multiplexed GTI 180 lump running Laughing

yeah barely any differece in look of the car, but the model i have is lighter and slighty smaller the reason i think it would go well with the mods

What year of 206 do you have?

Depending on the cars electrical system it could be either a nightmare or pretty easy Laughing

Of course it's doable, just a bloody ball ache. You are better off buying a whole donor car for all the parts and then at that rate you may as well just use the other car...

And like MrBSI said if your car is pre plex then it's going to be a lot worse Laughing

2 totally different types of electrical system on the 206 depending on the age & most of the electrical parts, airbags & even the steering wheels ain't interchangeable.

ah that helped alot, there's alot of single wiring in the car so im thinking its muliplexed, ill have to find out for sure, but will this make the job alot easier im guessing becuase you dont have to mess around with the electrical side much
