Squeaky Rear
-> 206 Problems

    ----
over the last few days i have got a few bad squeak comming from the rear beam

it happens when going over bumps/lumps not so much big bumps.

i have checked the dampers a tight. they are only 4 months old so at the present am gone to rule out they are nacked. but am going to try my old one just incase

ARB looks tight and is pulled up.

what else could it be? the trailing arms dont seem to have much play so hoping its not the bearings

any suggustions?

Ta Smile

try making sure your back seats are fully clipped in place. My old seats used to squeak because they had become loose in the clip.

Wouldn't say its 100% rear axle it could be the spare wheel cage as mentioned above.

#10: Re: Squeaky Rear Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ? PostPosted: Mon Oct 24, 2011 6:57 am

Its only 4 bolts that hold it on & disconnect handbrake cable's, rear brake pipes & abs wiring.

Shouldnt take that long to drop it of & replace it.

solved it. read up quite a bit on dare i say it saxo and 106 fourms and alot of them have trouble with the arb end plates comming a bit lose and rubbing. hence the squeak.

when i checked it out the first time i just made sure the arb was pulled up and the two 13mm bolts tight i didnt think to take a hammer and smash to plate in,

now have no noise what so ever. might be worth giving it a try for anyone out their with a squeaky rear!
