Looks like it.

My housemates clio shows that gauge all the time, it even flashes meaning the oil is below the min but if you check it, it's fine.

The PSA version of the oil level gauge is either totally useless OR pretty good depending on which BSI software version the car in question is running

No need to do anything drastic like that Wink

Oil level gauge will soon find the correct level again after a few starts.

Shall I guess its the typical situation where the old version is best, then they fiddled with it and the new version is rubbish?

Nope, other way round.

Older versions of the 206 BSI software has a few bugs.

Newer versions are pretty much bug free & can also add extra functionally as well like.

Alarm system armed on normal locking not just with deadlocks.
Automatic door locking.
Red flashing alarm led when the immobiliser is armed not just with alarm.

Most likely is other tweaks to but I cant be bothered to remember them all Laughing
