DIY Hafords Paint

Right firstly, peugeot are complete morons for not making enought EYC Silver 206's as it is harder to get parts that colour! and so now i am having a problem!

i have rubbed back the SP arches that i have bought because they are EZR paint code and dont match the paintwork and stand out like a sore thumb so i was going to paint myself. i went down to halford and asked for some help after looking on their website and they only cater for peugeot paint codes; EZR, PAG, PKD (as website states)

www.halfords.com/webap...ice%7C%7C1

where can i get an EYC paint from that i can do myself?

Thanks

I tend to look at it this way... bodyshops wouldnt charge as much as they do if it was the easy to DIY' it i have resorted to spraying parts before and yeah once your good at its alot cheaper but you never get the same quality finish Mobile scratch repairers FTW most are pretty reasonable Smile and halfords as a store should only be used for emergencys lol :):)

Like Lee said paints4u, got me 2 cans for when i did my interior (dials, window/mirror control, door handles, map light plastics, vents, centre console, etc) only used i'd probably estimate less than half a can (weird considering it got through 1 and a half cans of primer) and the colour match was very good (if more than 1 option of the same paint appears like for me they can get it off your reg too).

I've used them for 2 of the cars i've owned now and the colours and quality have always been spot on (have got good service too, if you don't order lacquer they will email before sending out the order to make sure you don't need it (i know there trying to get more money but it works both ways really))

For my sins I once worked at Halfords many years ago, I found that Halfords own paint in the spray cans was hit and miss with regards to colour match. The stuff mixed in store is excellent provided the person mixing it can be bothered making a good job of it. Also remember with regards to colour match of a repair, a body shop will often paint the entire side of car, (particularly metallic colours) when repairing arches, etc so you can't see the repair. This had to be done on my Astra when an old granny got confused with which pedal to use to slow down and clipped the rear quarter.

Peugeot is good if you want to paint small interior items, vent surrounds/door handle surrounds ECT. I found the cans too small for anything bigger. Paints4u all the way Wink
