#1: Heater motor symptoms Author: rich42, Location: WalsallPosted: Sat Oct 29, 2011 5:48 am ---- My car is a 2001 206CC, 2L. It is fitted with climate control. Reading past entries on here, I fear for my heater motor!
It seems to work, but it has a life of its own, speeding up and slowing down as it likes, I have some control with the + and - switch, but I'm not sure how it is supposed to react.
Is there a definative guide on how the climate system is supposed to work correctly? the handbook is next to useless!
Thanks in advance. Rich

(In AUTO mode) it controls the fan speed (among other things) to give the desired airflow and temperature. So it WILL go up and down as needed, after all this is the whole point of climate control over air conditioning.
Pressing the fan + or - button takes the fan speed out of auto mode and allows you to manually set the fan speed, to one of 8 available settings. To back into auto fan speed mode, press AUTO.

See above description, it SHOULD "have a mind of its own".

If the fan changes speed gradually then all is fine. It shouldn't go from slow to fast all of a sudden though, changes will be gradual.
As soon as the + or - button is used by the driver the climate control is switched off and control is returned to the user.
