#1: Fitting injectors Author: Gaz360, Location: LouthPosted: Sun Oct 30, 2011 4:46 pm ---- I am just about to change a fuel rail and the injectors.
Is there anything I should be aware of or is it just a simple case of taking them off and putting the new ones in??

Make sure you've cleaned up before cranking, and wait at least 10 mins inbetween fitting and cranking.
Also prime the system.

#4: Re: Fitting injectors Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Sun Oct 30, 2011 5:02 pm ---- Get the air out of it.
Little blue bleed cap on the rail
#5: Re: Fitting injectors Author: Gaz360, Location: LouthPosted: Sun Oct 30, 2011 5:24 pm ---- ok. So take injectors of... clean up the fuel... wait bout 10mins.... (and turn the blue screw to let the air out)... then put the new ones in. Doest that sound about right?

#7: Re: Fitting injectors Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Sun Oct 30, 2011 5:27 pm ---- Remove the injectors/fuel rail
Block up the fuel line with toilet roll
Fit the new injectors/fuel rail
Clean up any spilled fuel and wait 10 mins.
Open the blue screw, turn the ignition on and as soon as fuel comes out of it, tighten it up.
Happy days.

#9: Re: Fitting injectors Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Mon Oct 31, 2011 2:18 am ---- I've completely drained the rail on mine and just started it as normal. No need to risk fuel squirting out of the schrader valve.

agree with this, no need to bleed the system on any petrol car Ive come across, im sure there are exceptions though
